    Margaret Tait has been a member of PEYC for 40 years and is well known as one of our most active race officers, graduating from  running the Monday evening dinghy series (all of the series, not just the occasional race) to running our open events and most recently the 707 Nationals.     Social Evening and Curry October 10th

    Its been a wet and windy summer but we have still managed a lot of mentored sessions on the club boats, a lot of racing, funsails and cruising, and many new members have joined.     707 Sprints Report

    Thirteen short course races challenged the 18-strong fleet of Hunter 707s on the Forth. Eddie Batchelor's Tsunami II made it two event wins in a row after the team finished atop the Hunter 707 Sprint event.     707 Sprints September 14-15

    Over the weekend of 14th and 15th of September, PEYC welcomes the return of the 707 Association sailors to our annual Sprints regatta.  The aim is to hold a series of as many short races as we can each day - around 20 minutes each, which means lots of exciting close racing and the opportunity for a wide range of winners.  The fleet will be split into two groups each day to limit the danger

    707 Nationals - Final day report

    After one final race in strong conditions, Eddie Batchelor's Tsunami II came out on top ahead of five-time former champions SeaWord. The final day brought tricky conditions, with the race committee fighting to lay a course in the strong tide on the Firth of Forth. One race was sailed with Tsunami II wrapping their regatta up with a bullet, followed closely by Watson's Monarch and Rammie, helmed by Callum Calder.

    707 Nationals - Day 3 report

    Four races close the gaps on penultimate day After two days of 20 knot winds, ever so slightly calmer conditions allowed four races to be sailed on day three of the 707 National Championship at Port Edgar Yacht Club.     707 Nationals - Day 2 report

    The 707 National Championship rolled into its second day of racing, hosted by Port Edgar Yacht Club, on the Firth of Forth. Stiff conditions greeted the fleet for three races, but it wasn't easy. The Race Committee logged an average wind of 21 knots across the three races with gusts of up to 30 knots. The anemometer that sits on one of the Firth of Forth bridges logged some fruity gusts,

    707 Nationals - Day 1 report

    The 707 National Championship got off to a roaring start on a wet and punchy Thursday afternoon in Scotland.     707 National Championships - 15th-18th August

    The club welcomes 28 707s and over 150 competitors for the 707 class National Championships from Thursday the 15th to Sunday the 18th of August.     One of our sailors , Calum (left) was doing rather well at West Highland Yachting Week, Calum writes:  I was sailing on 'Sorr of Appin' which is a Westerly Storm 33 skippered by Brian Wiseman and had an unbelievable week, winning 5 out of 6 of the races, scoring a perfect 5 points after our 3rd place discard.     Dinghy Evening Series

    The 3rd Dinghy evening series started on August 1st, and goes on to September 5th, after which  sunset is before 8PM so evening dinghy sailing finishes. Seven boats  competed in the first evening series, won by John and Kate in their RS200, the second series had thirteen competitors, won by Calum in the Supernova and 9 boats entered the first race of this last series.
