Yachts: Cruise Evening
Thursday Evening Cruise
For the 2026 season we will be organising informal cruising on Thursday evenings. The club boats, Eurobo and Kittiwake, will be available, and we hope that other boat owners will participate. Instructions about how to register via a spreadsheet will be sent each week and this will close on the morning of the cruise so the organisers can allocate crew to boats trying to ensure that each boat has at least one experienced crew to support the skipper. Skippers can indicate how many crew places they can offer.
We will meet at the clubhouse at 6.30 and sail locally for a few hours, the time and direction being determined by weather and tides. In the event of unsuitable weather it is the individual skipper's decision whether to sail or not and this will be communicated to crew.
Note that on some evenings, the tides will not be good for getting on and off the pontoons, in which case we may have an earlier cruise. Check the times in the calendar.
The club boats have lifejackets, and most other boats have spares, so it should be possible to borrow if you do not have your own. You will need warm clothing and a wind and waterproof jacket, as it is always colder on the water than you think.
