Mentored Sessions

PEYC is not a training centre and therefore we do not offer RYA Training with Certificates. If you do wish to undergo RYA Training then Port Edgar Watersports offer theory courses and some practical courses. https://www.edinburghwatersports.com/ . Alternately, there are many RYA Training Centres around the UK or abroad who offer many specific RYA courses. https://find.rya.org.uk/

 At PEYC we do however have several volunteer members with different levels of sailing experience who offer mentored sessions on our club boats, the two 707s and a 33 foot RoNautica yacht. 

These sessions are to allow new potential members to get out on the water and see if they want to take it further and join the club, to give new members a chance to get some experience out on the water, or for members to be able to practice various boating skills with an experienced mentor present.  We do recommend that members go on to book up with a recognised RYA Training centre to get appropriate training and certificates, but mentored sessions will allow people to 'just get started'.

We charge a small fee for these sessions, just to cover the cost of berthing and maintenance only.
