Evening cruising

Evening cruising at Port Edgar

For the 2026 season we will be organising informal cruising on Thursday evenings. The club boats Eurobo and Kittiwake will be available, and we hope that other boat owners will participate.

Each week there will be a link on the PEYC website to sign up as either skipper/boat or crew. Skippers can indicate how many crew places they can offer.

We will meet at the clubhouse at 6.30 and allocate crew to boats, trying to ensure that each boat has at least one experienced crew to support the skipper.

We sail locally for a few hours, the time and direction being determined by weather and tides. In the event of unsuitable weather it is the individual skippers decision whether to sail or not and this will be communicated to crew.

The club boats have lifejackets, and most other boats have spares, so it should be possible to borrow if you do not have your own. You will need warm clothing and a wind and waterproof jacket, as it is always colder on the water than you think.
