The Magenta Project: Advancing Gender Equity in Sailing

The Magenta Project (TMP) is an international initiative that aims to accelerate gender equity and inclusion in professional sailing. It works to increase the participation and visibility of women across all areas of the sport, from elite competition to leadership roles. TMP advances this mission through mentorship, skills development, partnerships, and research that address structural barriers and promote diversity. The programme ultimately seeks to build a stronger and more inclusive community across sailing and the wider marine industry.  

Frida Diaz, a PEYC member has been selected as a Magenta Project Mentee to develop skills in sailing, as a competitor and as a professional. She will be sharing that experience with us.
