Three Inches Trophy

On 31st August Port Edgar hosted this yacht race. Of course all the entrants were hoping for perfect weather - but unfortunately it didn't go to plan. This was a race where participants from round the Forth could choose where and when to start within a 3-hour period, to get the best from the tide. And the wind decided to blow hard, so, a number of boats decided to pull out. The boat I was on used every combination of sail you could imagine - from full sail and the spinnaker, to 2 reefs in the main with three quarters of the jib rolled away!
However some made it round the course - and results were as follows:-
