Winter Talks, Marine Mammals and Social Sailing at PEYC
Published 8:40pm on 13 Nov 2024
Each year we have a programme of talks over winter, The first this year is on November 21st in the clubhouse starting at 7PM.
We have two speakers:
Tierney Carter is a Senior Marine Mammal Consultant with over five years experience of preparing impact assessments of the impact of seabourne developments on marine mammals . After the level of interest in the bottlenose dolphin that has hung around PEYC this year, Tierney has been asked to present a talk about marine mammals in the Firth of Forth, where and when they can be viewed in the Forth and how to identify them.
Linda Cooper is our Commodore and will open up a general discussion about the opportunities for social sailing based at Port Edgar to offer more to the club's members.
We have all the ingredients for some superb social sailing; yachts, interesting cruising waters with plenty of destination harbours, a vast amount of experience in the club of sailing around the Forth and we now have around 150 members with cruising membership. Your contributions to this discussion will be invaluable and we hope to see lots of people there to guide us as we plan for 2025.
